Monet Painting Damaged in the National Gallery of Art
The National Gallery of Ireland has confirmed that a painting by Monet was seriously damaged during an incident, involving a member of the public at the Gallery this morning.
The painting Argeteuil Basin with a Single Sailboat (1874) has been taken off display and is being evaluated by the Gallery’s conservation team.
Gardaí have said that the incident is under investigation.
